“ My wife and I had an incredible experience celebrating my birthday at Halls Chophouse. The best service we have ever experienced and the food was incredible. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a spot to have a nice dinner in downtown Greenville. ”
“ There really aren't enough stars for my experience here on Jan 31. A beautiful 3 level restaurant overlooking a river that runs through downtown Greenville, creates a intimate upscale dining experience. As a Texan, I've had my share of great steak. The steak my group had was simply unbelievably amazing. As were the appetizers, hard to pick my favorite. You can't go wrong with any of them stuffed mushrooms, fried green tomatoes, and bacon steak. The sides were all wonderful but my favorite was the skillet corn. Bread pudding phenomenal! Chocolate chip cookie skillet, decadent. The element that really elevated the experience to one of the best meals in my recent memory was the staff from the floor manager, to the very engaging and knowledgable sommelier Katie, and the star of our evening, Dustin, our waitstaff person extraordinare. He educated us about the different ways steak is aged and prepared, he was engaging and personable, offered excellent suggestions. When I come back to visit my friends who live locally, I will definitely return to this spot to have another memorable experience, the epitome of a dining experience, Hall's Chophouse. ”
“ Halls Chophouse is a treat whenever we visit my in laws in SC. On this visit, we were kicking off the holidays. We started with the jumbo crab cakes and they are very generous with the crab meat. I always love seeing the presentation of meats. This time I ordered a bone in rib eye with foie gras. I was given the option of sweet or savory and went with sweet. We ordered sides for the table which are served table side: collard greens, corn skillet, and mac and cheese were our choices. The service is always amazing and attentive. My only feedback is that they should stock up on the bubbles at the holidays. The first bottle we ordered was out of stock. It's always festive and jolly coming here. ”
“ Service: Our waiter, Derek, was magnificent. Very attentive, humorous, and knowledgeable about the menu. Ambiance: Classy casual dress to casual dress seems appropriate. The restaurant is clean, and I noticed that from bathrooms to the nooks that the service staff was working out of. Food: A++ You can tell that there is attention to detail in plating the food. All the food was hot to warm on arrival to table. My French toast was even good without the syrup. Will revisit for dinner ”
“ Dinner for 2 on Friday, 11/22/24. Arrived a little late for our reservation yet the host was extremely pleasant and offered a warm smile and told "no worries"! If I could give our server Elle M. 10 I would. She is amazing! Extremely knowledgeable, very friendly, and such a pleasure to spend our time with at Halls. We were seated upstairs at a two top overlooking the bar & outside. Great table! The restaurant has beautiful glass panels that block out the noise from downstairs without sacrificing the view. The meal was perfect. Elle asked us what we liked and then suggested the Jumbo Shrimp cocktail for me and a bowl of She-Crap soup as our starters, both were fantastic. I also added a Hall's Old Fashion, with Hall's select Woodford. For dinner we shared the 14oz bone-in filet with a side of Truffle fries and wild mushroom risotto. The bone-in was an upsell by Elle and she was right. She also suggested we try the Whislepig butter, which we did. Throughout our time at Hall's several additional team members checked on us, a really nice touch. The well dressed gentleman, I assume the manager (I fail to remember his name), also chatted with us to ensure our time was special - thank you! Well done to the entire team, we will see you again soon and will ask for Elle! ”
“ Hubby and I went for brunch/lunch and had so much fun I forgot to take pics!! For appetizers: SHE-CRAB SOUP* Lump crab meat, sherry, cream, chives It was delectable! OYSTERS ROCKEFELLER* Oysters, spinach, hollandaise, breadcrumbs I gotta say, these are some of the best I've ever had, a very refined take on a classic dish Moving onto Entrees: CRABCAKE EGGS BENEDICT* Lump crab cakes, wilted arugula, roasted pepper-Creole hollandaise, choice of Pepper Jack Grits or Hash Brown Potatoes (I opted for the potatoes, no regrets) mmm mmm yummy! In spite of what the hubby ordered, he kept sneaking bites of mine AMERICAN MISHIMA WAGYU FLAT IRON STEAK, 12 OZ* Intricate marbling, rich buttery flavor, carved Wow was this delicious! We'd been eating steak the past few days so I was a bit burnt out but I'm so glad he ordered it. Seasoning was subtle yet perfection and melts in your mouth. And while I'm not seeing it on the menu online, perhaps it was a special, but we had the choice between roasted Brussels or a creamier version. As tempting as roasted Brussels are, they are on every menu. So we opted to try to creamier version. I don't know if I'm selling this properly because while they are creamier, they aren't heavy, not like a creamed spinach or casserole. It's more of a light and smooth creamy sauce and if I could steal this recipe... mmm hmm ask your server about this. Now onto the staff, our server was on point and such fun! She anticipated our needs before we even thought of asking, she was very knowledgeable and helped with our selection of drinks and dishes, she really sets the bar on what to expect from a dining establishment. I regretfully do mot remember her name. The other staff from the host stand to food runners were all amazing! When it comes to steak houses, I tend to feel they all have the same atmosphere, usually pretty stuffy, even perhaps a bit dated which can sometimes add to the appeal and timelessness but that is not the vibe here! Halls is a blend of modern elegance without losing sight of what makes a steakhouse so appealing. We throughly enjoyed our visit! ”
“ First off, the service was excellent. We were seated at a quiet table overlooking the river, and received a complimentary glass of champagne as we were celebrating my Birthday. Numerous waiters and waitresses attended to us throughout the evening, which was delightful and not obtrusive. The bread arrived warm and crusty with flavorful butter, and our cocktails were great. I thoroughly enjoyed my 6oz grass fed filet, which was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The Brussels sprouts were good, but not as tasty as the creamed spinach. My husband opted for the grouper, and regretted not getting the salmon instead. I wish we had room for dessert, as their offerings were tempting. Alas, we decided to pass, and were surprised with a complimentary slice of cake with caramel sauce. Suffice it to say, we will be back and highly recommend Halls to all who stop in Greenville! ”
“ A delightful find in Greenville Great service by Matthew Delicious food and drinks Elevator to the dining room Kinda dramatic Celebrating graduation from Clemson Nice sauces for tender cuts of beef Sunny room with plenty of room Pressed coffee with cream ”
“ Impeccable service. The wine list was an extensive, as were the choices of steak entrees. He ordered Filet Mignon, medium rare, which was cooked to perfection. The baked potato side was enormous. Could have easily fed a family of four. The jacket was crisp and salted perfectly with a buttery inside, topped with sour cream, cheese and bacon. I had a pan seared salmon, which was excellent, over fingerling potatoes. The chimichurri topping was flavorful. The highlight of the dinner, though, were our soup and salad. Easily the best French onion soup I've had. The presentation was also appealing. The salad's presentation was gorgeous, and even more delicious. Overall, a lovely dinner. ”
